[Satellite Today 08-14-08] Telecom specialists from the Inmarsat-sponsored aid agency Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) have deployed in Georgia as an emergency crew, carrying satellite communications equipment intended to set up crisis management centers that will offer broadband internet access, phone and fax lines to civilian victims.
TSF expects the mission to last for at least two weeks, a spokesman said.
Russia and Georgia have been fighting over the last week. A fragile ceasefire was brokered between the two countries Aug. 13.
