Digital Satellite Newsgathering - Presented on October 21, 2008
Available On Demand | Speakers and Information
As Satellite Newsgathering (SNG) technology continues to improve at a rapid rate, larger news organizations have been able to cover events from around the globe while cutting costs and smaller organizations have been expanding their operations and providing more content from the field.
Likewise, SNG trucks continue to play an vital role in the broadcasting arena, but the 24-hour news cycle means that news organizations must provide more live content worldwide. This makes smaller, portable digital SNG units the must-have tool for news organizations.
Via Satellite along with executives from leading SNG equipment manufacturers will discuss the latest issues in the SNG arena and be on hand to answer your questions. This one hour webinar will look at the latest technology available for your operations. |

Central Command & Control: Maximizing Effectiveness in the Field through the Automation of Work-Flows and Central Control - Presented on September 25 , 2008
Available On Demand | Speakers and Information
Today’s communications networks are increasingly complex due to the intermingling of multiple vendor technologies that span different programs and are rarely integrated. This is especially true for geographically dispersed networks supporting military theater and emergency services. The subsequent fragmentation of the network threatens the disruption of key 24/7 services.
Join Via Satellite and DataPath for this FREE webinar to learn how advanced network control software can be deployed for air-tight Centralized Command and Control.

How Serious Is The Threat To Satellite's C-Band Spectrum? - Presented on September 25, 2007
Available On Demand | Speakers and Information
Satellite operators use C-band to provide essential services such as TV transmissions, distance learning, telemedicine and disaster recovery, and in some countries C-band spectrum serves as the core communications network. But communications via satellite using radio frequencies around 4 gigahertz may face an interference threat from the rollout of mobile broadband technologies.
This is a key issue on the agenda for the ITU’s World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07) and the satellite industry needs to be made aware of the situation.

The audio is delivered to your location over the telephone or your computer speakers. The Power-Point presentations are presented over the Internet and are available to print out before the program. This is like a talk-radio program with visuals on the Web.
You need Real Player or Windows Media Player installed on your computer. If you do not have either, please follow the instructions below to download and install them. Or if you prefer, a phone for the audio and an Internet connection to let you watch the slides and other information on the Web will suffice. No other downloads or special hardware needed - a dial-up connection will work fine.
